How to clean the fireplace glass

Oh no it’s time to clean the fireplace glass again! Hold your fireplaces; it’s not that difficult if you take things step by step.

Step one: Opening the door of the stove or fireplace. Most stoves and fireplaces have hinged doors and are usually easy to open. Even if the fireplace has a guillotine door (which is a fireplace door that slides up and down) there is usually an easy way to open it for easier glass cleaning access. Only gas stoves or gas fireplaces require glass suction cups to remove the fireplace ceramic glass.

Step two: What type of dirt is there on the fireplace glass? Is it a hard and brownish layer or is the soot whitish?

Step three: For times when the soot is very dark and hard the first step could be to use a glass scraper to remove some of the residue, once you have gone over all the fireplace glass you can move to the next step which could be the good old fashioned way of a damp newspaper dipped in cold ashes or an easier option using our stove and fireplace glass cleaner spray.

Step Four: Enjoying your stove or fireplace again with shiny clear glass 🙂
